Aardvark Quilt

I made this a while ago for my animal mad son. The ants are joined by a quilted doodle line around the quilt.

Here's a close-up of the centre panel

I'm still busy working on different versions of the princess playset - Evie loves playing with it and this weekend it was featured on one pretty thing's flickr roundup! I might make a mermaid themed one or a fairy garden... watch this space...

Princess and the Pea part 2

Yesterday i found out my playset was one of the featured projects over on craftster- yay!! But i also realised, i hadn't posted a picture of the actual storysack, so here it is;

I've also been busy making this;

It's the Simplicity pattern 2809. I was a little worried about it before i started, because the pattern pieces looked quite bizzare, and i couldn't figure how on earth they were going to come together to look anything like the cover picture. I needn't have worried though because the pattern was pretty much fool proof - apart from the nappy pattern - less said about that the better! and i'm really pleased with how it came out and Evie must be too, as she has nabbed it before i had time to make any other clothes!

Unicorn Cape

Evie has very specific requests sometimes. In this case she ordered a unicorn costume - it had to be pink and purple with wings that are shiney but not really there (what??!!!) and a twirly purple horn. Sometimes i think she overestimates my sewing abilities....
But who could resist this face;

It's basically a hood with ears and mane attached to a gathered semi-circle for the wings, with a tail stuck at the end.

But i think she likes it

Princess and the Pea Playset

In an attempt to get Evie more interested in reading and books in general, i made her a storysack and as it was for Evie of course it had to be princessy! I made this princess and the pea playset so she could act out the story. I based it on the illustrations from this version. It all packs away into the little lunchbox which doubles as the front of the castle;

Inside is the bed, complete with a pea on the sheet

And of course, LOTS of matresses!

And they all lived happily ever after....
